Corrections

If something on this site is wrong, write to corrections@gisdatadepot.com. Tell us the page, the claim or dataset row, and what you saw, including the software and version if it concerns a processing result.

What we do

• Check the evidence. For an article we identify the claim and the source or test behind it. For a dataset we identify the row, field, source and check date.
• Rerun when behaviour is involved. A change to a command, result or tool behaviour gets a fresh run with its environment, software version and date. A typo fix does not imply a rerun.
• Correct in public. The page gets a dated correction note saying what was wrong and what changed. Superseded results are kept on record, not silently replaced.
• Qualify while we check. If an error affects a conclusion, we qualify or withdraw that conclusion until it is resolved.

Publishers can ask us to update how we describe their data, access routes or terms. We check the current source and update the record and its date.

We do not publish private details from correction reports.
